At the initial visit, Dr. Hall examines the patient, evaluates gait, strength and functional mobility, takes physical measurements as a baseline to evaluate progress, palpates for discomfort and restricted range of motion, reviews medical records and results of diagnostic tests and discusses prognosis and desired outcomes.

  • Please bring all pertinent material ( medical records, radiographs, diagnostic reports) with you or arrange to have them faxed (to 425.742.1513) or delivered prior to your appointment.

  • Expect to spend 45 minutes to an hour at the initial visit. Subsequent visits are usually 30-60 minutes.

  • Physical rehabilitation is not an alternative to proper surgical or medical care. Appropriate tests to diagnose lameness should be performed by your regular veterinarian or orthopedic/neurologic specialist.

Ongoing treatment

Depending on your pet’s initial condition and desired goals, therapy may last from a few visits to a few months or longer, leading to a maintenance program at home or in our facility.

Your pet’s condition is assessed at each therapy session. You will receive regular reports of our findings, the outcome of therapy and recommendations for progressing therapy at home.

Veterinary physical rehabilitation is the application of physical therapy techniques to animals. Here in Washington, only licensed veterinarians and supervised technicians are allowed to provide these services. Licensing issues restrict the use of the term physical therapy to human physical therapists. Hence, the term veterinary physical rehabilitation. Our practice is limited to physical rehabilitation and aquatic therapy. You will be referred to your regular veterinarian for general care.
